Access and Smoke Hatch
The Roof Access Hatch
Provides an exit to the roof from within the building. This is particularly useful in high buildings where access to the roof would have to be provided by very large ladders or scaffolding on the outside, which are a temptation to burglars or children. The Newdome access hatch has a large clear well area enabling trouble-free entrance and exit to and from the roof.
Construction:
From heavy gauge mill finished aluminium, the Newdome access hatch has a double skin insulated aluminium lid, hinged to open to 89° with a locking device inside to provide complete security. The 300mm high up stand provides excellent weathering and incorporates a 100mm flat flange for fixing direct to the roof opening or with a 50 mm turn-down to suit a builder's up stand.
Can be Polyester powder coated to match steel profile sheets or tiles, to any standard RAL colour at an extra cost.
Method of Operation
By releasing the locking mechanism, the gas spring is brought into operation and with slight upward pressure the lid opens to the fully open position and is held in this position by the gas spring. Please see data sheet below for diagram's.
Smoke Hatches
Can be fitted with low voltage electrical actuators together with a control box. All hatches can be fitted with double skin UV protected polycarbonate domes or pyramids tops in lieu of the standard insulated lid.
